Overview:

Clare V. is looking for a strategic, data-driven, and creative Retention Marketing Manager to join our Marketing team. In this role you will leverage your knowledge and experience with CRM to own the customer lifecycle, driving LTV and loyalty for the brand.

 

The ideal candidate is curious, ambitious, and eager to build on the cult loyalty that Clare V. has engendered over the past 18 years. The position will oversee Email, SMS, and loyalty with the potential to grow and build into new retention strategies over time. They will use customer insights, run in-depth analysis and make data-driven decisions to both optimize the existing customer journey and innovate into new ways to make our customers lifelong fans and shoppers.


This role reports to the VP of Marketing and sits within the marketing and creative team under the Chief Brand Officer.  

 

What You’ll Do:


CRM:

  • Own and execute the full email and SMS marketing calendar, responsible for setting the calendar, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery, and following up with analytics across touchpoints.
  • Responsible for the continued improvement of Clare V.’s systematic/automated messaging, with an eye towards constant testing and improvement. 
  • Responsible for improving both the size and health of Clare V.’s customer lists - setting growth goals and identifying tactics and strategies to achieve them. 
  • Work cross functionally with partners across the organization from planning and merchandising to retail operations to ensure CRM best practices are applied on every touchpoint. 


Loyalty:

  • Partner with the VP of marketing to ideate and launch Clare V.’s loyalty program, focusing on innovative ways for our consumer to connect meaningfully with the brand. 
  • Manage and optimize the program over time, driving testing to better understand what resonates with our consumers and how we can make the program more valuable to them and the business. 


Data & Analytics:

  • Act as the internal expert on Clare V.’s existing customer, obsessively looking for opportunities and insights to better serve our customer base and build affinity to drive business results. 
  • Responsible for setting our benchmarks and goals, constantly looking for ways to meet where we haven’t met and exceed where we’ve met. 
  • Responsible for weekly KPI dashboard, quarterly deep reporting, and supporting both ad hoc requests as well as driving analysis independently and proactively. 


Innovation:

  • Proactively identify new technology, channels, and platforms to better serve our customers and build returning customer business. 
  • Build business cases for new ideas and drive cross-functional alignment towards implementation. 


Requirements
  • 5+ Years of experience in email or SMS marketing, exposure to loyalty a plus within the DTC and/or retail space
  • Hands-on-keyboard competence in building and deploying email and SMS touchpoints, Klaviyo experience a plus 
  • Experience working with longer-term strategies with ownership of specific KPIs. 
  • Independent: You have a bias for action and love owning a project from start to finish. 
  • Curious: You’re subscribed to all the substacks/newsletters to stay abreast of the latest and greatest and look forward to product updates from your ESP. 
  • Data-driven: You like being the first to identify a problem and to bring a solution (or two) to the table before anyone else has even noticed something amiss. You’re never afraid to test a new idea and know how to structure the test to get actionable results.   
  • Ambitious: You like the idea of building, both for yourself and for the team you’re on. 
  • Kind: You approach your work with enthusiasm but you take care to be a team player and like working in environments that prioritize thoughtful interaction. 

This job has a requirement of 3-5 days in-office at our studio in the Frogtown neighborhood of Los Angeles.


Compensation & Perks:

Annual salary range of $85K - $105K, along with annual cost-of-living increases, end-of -year bonus opportunities, and generous employee discounts.  Plus, enjoy bi-annual product credits to keep you connected with the brand.
