Job Summary: The individual in this position is responsible for conceptualizing and designing new products, testing product designs, and drafting specifications for the manufacturing. They use research on customer demand and industry trends to develop product ideas, build and test product prototypes, and evaluate production options and costs. To be successful, this individual must be innovative, creative, analytical, and possess a high level of integrity, dedication and collaboration. This position reports to the General Manager.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
· Develop testing plans for products
· Manages configuration and engineering revisions
· Research product issues and develop creative solutions
· Determine the most efficient production methods for new product launches
· Identify and introduce new product ideas
· Use CATIA for the design and development activities
· Participate in design reviews, testing and creation of technical reports and documentation
· Collaborate with stakeholders to move projects form concept phase to production phase
· Possess knowledge of engineering concepts, materials and properties.
· Evaluate the impact of technical dispositions impact on production schedules, safety, quality aspect, documentation and cost/benefits analysis
· Interface directly with other internal stakeholders involved in the different phases of the product development process.
· Bachelor of Science in an Engineering discipline with 2-3 years of recent experience in aerospace and designed industries preferred.
· Basic CNC programming capabilities in CATIA is required. CATIA modeling and drafting capabilities is required.
· Customer oriented with active listening skills.
· Ability to communicate effectively with customers, ownership, and other members of the Omni Aerospace team.
· Excellent ability to work in a team, strong interpersonal skills, leadership, and professional presentation skills.
· Ability to work independently and project management-oriented mindset
· Ability to work with standard hand tools and manual/cnc machining centers
· Effective organizational and reporting skills
