Purpose & Vision Statement


The Tacoma Rescue Mission (TRM) is a faith-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to support all people - including clients, volunteers, community partners, and staff - to become their best. We provide emergency services such as shelter and meals to neighbors experiencing homelessness. We offer supportive housing and addiction recovery programs that promote self-sufficiency, sustainable transformation, and stability. We share our Christian faith within a loving and inclusive community.

Job Purpose


Extends the reach of TRM through planning, coordinating, and implementing its partner and development program. Responsible for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities along with coordinating activities with other staff, board members, and volunteers.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Proactively reaches out to an assigned portfolio of partners.
  • Actively manages portfolio through regular cultivation meetings, in-person solicitations, and stewardship activities.
  • Advises Director of Development in matters related to partner development.
  • Engages in TRM’s comprehensive campaign and development plan.
  • Engages in event attendance and marketing.
  • Tracks and reports relationship management activity using donor management software.
  • Participates in regular Community Engagement and organization wide meetings.

Working Conditions


Office setting with computer work; travel to various locations; flexible schedule; frequent telephone calls, site tours and in-person meetings.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of nonprofit fund development experience.
  • Experience with face-to-face donor solicitation and fundraising with an emphasis on relationship building is highly desired.
  • Ability to problem solve, take initiative, and think strategically and creatively.
  • Attention to detail and strong project management skills.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong listening skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and foster teamwork in a diverse environment using effective and thoughtful interactions and communication.
  • Access to a vehicle for frequent travel throughout Pierce County and TRM locations.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Frequently operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • Communicates information and ideas so others will understand. Exchanges accurate information in these situations.
  • Observes details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).

    • Hiring Salary Range: $36.68 - $40.39
    • Full Salary Range: $36.68 - $44.49

Salary Description
$36.68 - $44.49 per hour
