Description
Summary:
We’re looking for a Sales Engineer who will play a key role on the data strategy team. You will be the bridge between tech and healthcare, selling complex data solutions (like AI/ML, integrations, analytics) to health systems and IDN’s, by explaining technical benefits, designing customized solutions, leading demos, and supporting sales with deep product/clinical knowledge (HL7, FHIR, HIPAA) to drive revenue and improve patient outcomes. You will also help facilitate the creation and sharing of cross-organization plans working cross-functionally.
What you’ll do:
- Partner with sales on discovery; turn customer problems into concrete data pulls and solution narratives
- Build sample cohorts and counts in Snowflake (de-identified) to validate feasibility and value
- Create light analyses (SQL + quick charts) for POCs and proposals; explain assumptions and caveats
- Map clinical concepts (LOINC, ICD-10, CPT, test panels, abnormal flags) to data elements; clarify cohort logic
- Advise on PHI handling, “minimum necessary,” and de-identification in pre-sales contexts
- Capture repeatable queries/templates and contribute to a “pre-sales query cookbook”
- Provide product feedback from the field; influence demo assets and data dictionaries
- Complete other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you bring:
- 5+ years as Sales/Solutions Engineer or Analytics Consultant in healthcare data (labs, claims, EHR, RWE)
- Solid SQL (CTEs, window funcs), Snowflake (warehouses, roles, query profiling), and data modeling
- Clinical data literacy: LOINC mappings, result ranges/flags, turnaround times, encounter types, HCP specialty
- Communication: can whiteboard patient journeys, defend assumptions with non-technical execs, and document logic
- Compliance awareness: HIPAA/BAA basics, limited datasets, Safe Harbor identifiers, data access controls
