Job Summary
The Barback supports bartenders by maintaining a clean and well-stocked bar, preparing garnishes, and ensuring smooth bar operations. This role requires attention to detail, efficiency, and excellent teamwork skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with opening and closing duties including restocking garnishes, towels, and glassware.
- Maintain inventory of ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
- Perform minor maintenance tasks such as changing kegs.
- Keep the bar clean by wiping surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash.
- Memorize cocktail recipes and menu items.
- Support bartenders with taking orders, preparing drinks, bussing tables, and processing payments.
- Engage with customers, answer questions, and handle complaints.
- Monitor stock usage and assist in reordering.
Requirements
Qualifications & Requirements
- Ability to lift 20 lbs and stand for long periods.
- Must have valid food handler’s card
- Must have valid TABC certification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Meets legal minimum age to serve alcohol.
- Knowledge of bar menu items and basic drink preparation.
- Excellent communication and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy items and work nights, weekends, and holidays.
