Duties and Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide support to roadway and municipal project managers on all aspects of transportation engineering.
  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams on tasks such as traffic safety analysis, intersection design, roadway design, drainage, roadway signing and pavement marking plans; active traffic management, and traffic and signal operations analysis.
  • Conduct field visits to observe and record traffic data.
  • Preparation of design computations, quantity estimates, and construction cost estimates for his/her projects within the team.
  • Use of computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare engineering, design, and planning documents.
  • Provide meeting representation with stakeholders, including state, county, and municipal officials.
  • Assisting in the analysis of field data, reports, maps, drawings, tests, and aerial photographs to plan and design projects.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key traffic engineering clients.
  • Willingness to learn new engineering methods and concepts, and the ability to incorporate said methods and concepts into work tasks without repetitive instruction.
  • Attend project and client meetings.
  • Train and mentor other staff.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil Preferred)
  • PE license preferred
  • Experience utilizing any or all of the following: Microstation, SYNCHRO, SimTraffic, and VISSIM
  • Aptitude for detail-oriented work assignments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s License
