TPD is seeking an enthusiastic civil engineer to join our Local Government team. Our ideal candidate has 3-5 years of traffic engineering experience, a strong work ethic, a desire to learn, the willingness to work cohesively within a team, and the ability to work on multiple projects.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review of municipal subdivision and land development applications, traffic impact and circulation studies, zoning ordinances.
  • Assisting in outside contact and communication pertaining to specific projects.
  • Capital improvement planning including providing cost estimates, feasibility studies, and developing recommendations and innovative solutions
  • Attendance at municipal meetings and close interaction with municipal staff, elected officials and local citizens.
  • Obtaining, analyzing, and interpreting demographic and other regional transportation planning data.
  • Assisting in the preparation or modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, impact studies, permits, and designs for projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (required)
  • PE License preferred
  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code, PennDOT, and federal transportation policies
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work on multiple projects and ability to meet multiple deadlines
  • Experience with multimodal planning and engineering (bike/pedestrian, trails, transit) is a plus
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Valid Driver’s License
