Description

Summary:

Responsible for a wide range of duties including project management, time and cost estimation, ensuring that maintenance and equipment improvement projects at RCPI are accomplished in a timely, high quality, cost effective and safe manner, and provide a focus on projects which improve reliability that will decrease machine and system downtime and increase OEE.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provides project management leadership in areas such as design, construction supervision and installation of major and minor equipment modifications for projects of varying size.
  • Read, interpret and revise blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunctions.
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and to make recommendations to maintenance crew.
  • Support a value added Preventive and Predictive maintenance program.
  • Participate and uphold the Engineering duties as defined by RCPI Work Management Process.
  • Retrieve equipment history and review for background information.
  • Gather information from operators, mechanics, etc. and OEM files as necessary.
  • Conduct Root Cause Failure analysis.
  • Generate appropriate Preventive and Predictive Work Orders
  • Communicate, coordinate and cooperate with personnel in other departments to ensure the proper functioning RCPI equipment and systems.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Qualifications:


The successful individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The following qualifications are also desirable:

Special Demands:

  • Be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Be able to climb ladders.
  • While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
  • May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.
  • May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
  • May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.
  • May be exposed to extremely dusty environments.
  • May be exposed to chemicals used in the manufacturing process.
  • Must be willing to enhance and learn new skill sets.
  • Actively participate in safety initiatives.


Education / Training:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering) or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks, with the ability to produce accurate models, layouts, and manufacturing-ready drawings
  • 3-5 years’ experience in an asset intensive manufacturing environment, working with heavy industrial equipment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, predictive maintenance techniques, and maintenance management systems in a lean manufacturing environment is a plus.

Salary Description
$94,000 - $120,000
