Logistics Supervisor
Description

The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day dispatching and driver coordination within the Terminal. This includes assisting with driver scheduling and dispatching in accordance with safety guidelines and DOT regulations.


Platform Science

  • Log In/Out Assistance
  • Route Request 
  • Hours of Service (HOS) Support
  • DVIR Assistance 

Beyond trucks   

  • Build order numbers in Beyond truck and place order numbers on the dispatch schedule.
  • Assign the driver and the equipment to the order once the assets are known.
  • Update the schedule as necessary.

Equipment and TMT: 

  • Assist in Creating Purchase Orders and Repair Orders.
  • Request and follow up on repairs, preventative maintenance (PMs), and inspections

Payroll:  

  • Enter any additional pay documented by the driver on detention forms submitted with the Bill of Lading (BOL).
  • Enter additional driver pay in Beyond Trucks, such as breakdown detention, etc. 
  • Review the weekly pay earning snapshot. Ensure drivers are paid accurately and timely.

Scheduling loads and drivers for miscellaneous 

  • Place orders on the schedule provided by customers.
  • Enter the driver and trailer information on the appropriate schedule.
  • Inform all drivers of their next work assignment.
  • Maintain prompt communication regarding any necessary changes.

 Principle Roles & Responsibilities

  • Keep safety awareness at the forefront of all we do at Modern Transportation
  • Review, understand, and manage Modern Transportation’s Supervisor Policies and Procedures to ensure expectations are met or exceeded   
  • Review, understand, and manage Modern Transportation’s Driver Policies and Procedures to ensure expectations are met or exceeded 
  • Daily processing of load paperwork
  • Review driver paperwork for accuracy
  • Calling and talking with drivers as necessary to gather the information required
  • Insure all drivers comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding Hours of Service and Out of Service criteria.
  • Provide daily /weekly performance reports to include delays and missed loads.
  • Support truck and trailer maintenance program as necessary.
  • Field perspective customer calls for sales leads and new business generation.
  • Strengthen and maintain strong business relationships with our current customers.
  • Other duties as assigned. Management retains the discretion to add to or change the duties of the position at any time.


Requirements
  • Experience with FMCSA and DOT regulations is preferred but not required. 
  • Supply Chain - Demonstrates solid understanding and knowledge of Supply Chain.
  • Project Management – Ability to plan and manage projects and processes as well as allocate resources, monitor progress, and establish budgets.

Education Requirements:

High School / GED. Some College/technical training preferred or equivalent experience

Travel Requirements:

Less than 20% -   travel between regional locations and customer sites.

Salary Range:

$65,000 - $70,000
