The Summer Camp Lifeguard is responsible for providing safe swimming conditions at the onsite pool, for children ages 6-13 at the summer camp. They will work alongside the lead lifeguard to always ensure the safety and well-being of the children and will be responsible for monitoring the swimming area and enforcing safety rules.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor the swimming area and enforce safety rules
• Respond quickly and effectively to any emergency situations
• Assists the lead lifeguard in providing swimming instruction and guidance to children
• Assist in swimming assessment at the start of every week
• Assist supervision in locker room areas
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times
• Clean and maintain the swimming area
• Collaborate with other counselors and staff to ensure a fun and safe camp experience for the children
• Help prepare and go on field trips on Thursdays with the rest of the camp.

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must have a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalent certification
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be able to work at least until early August 2025
• Lifeguard certification, preferred but not required
• We will pay for your certification if needed
• Strong swimming skills
• Knowledge of lifeguarding techniques and best practices
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Passion for working with children and ensuring their safety
• Must be able to pass a background check
