- 5+ years of strong experience with social media-based multimedia storytelling, with a strong emphasis on video and visual content creation, including both onscreen and behind the scenes.
- High level of expertise with common digital video and graphic design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc., and experience using newer AI-powered creative tools.
- Substantial expertise with creative and audience-building best practices on Instagram and/or TikTok.
- Successful track record with team-based creative process.
- Successful track record with deadline management.
- Responsiveness and ability to adapt to shifting project needs.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to discuss complex scenarios in simple, constructive ways.
- Experience writing for various and diverse audiences/markets.
- Comfort level dealing with survivors and sensitive topics: death, grief, tragedy, trauma, etc.
Essential Job Functions
- Write and produce high-quality, platform-specific, short-form content, including videos/reels, social media graphics, visual assets for email, narrative and educational posts, and calls to action.
- Proactively research and pitch content ideas that capitalize on immediate and emerging social media trends, creating storytelling that positions Legacy.com as the authoritative source of memorial information.
- Serve as an on-camera storyteller and brand ambassador for Legacy content.
- Assemble and curate multimedia messaging in support of Legacy’s brand, incorporating original copywriting, on-camera video narration, collected visual assets, and social media content.
- Customize and adapt content as appropriate for platform-specific audience expectations on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn, and other relevant spaces.
- Manage production timelines and asset delivery for multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Edit video, audio, and graphic design files to create professional-quality materials.
- Balance accurate and respectful memorial reporting with effective audience engagement.

Location
This role can be based in our Chicago HQ, hybrid, or remote with the expectation of occasional travel to Chicago for meetings as needed by the business.

Compensation
Annual salary range $70,000-$80,000 + Bonus
Final compensation is determined based on a variety of factors such as experience, education, certifications, and geographic location.
