We are currently seeking a Resettlement Case Manager to provide direct, in-person support to Afghan Humanitarian Parolees, Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders, refugees, and other eligible immigrant populations.
This role focuses on supporting individuals and families after their initial resettlement period, helping them identify needs, set goals, and build the skills and connections required for long-term stability and independence.

What You’ll Do
Direct Client Support & Advocacy
- Provide ongoing, in-person case management and advocacy services to clients and families.
- Conduct self-sufficiency assessments and work with clients to establish realistic goals and action plans.
- Deliver core services including:
- Employment support
- Benefits and public assistance navigation
- ESL enrollment and coordination
- Assistance scheduling and attending medical appointments
- Employment support
- Connect clients to community resources that support integration and independence.
- Provide transportation to services when necessary.
Community Integration & Acculturation
- Support clients in learning how to navigate U.S. systems and community norms.
- Assist with practical needs such as apartment setup and household organization when needed.
- Build trusting relationships that respect cultural context, trauma histories, and individual strengths.
Compliance, Documentation & Collaboration
- Learn and follow state, local, and federal program requirements.
- Maintain accurate case notes, documentation, and reports to meet federal audit standards.
- Become proficient in multiple client tracking and reporting databases.
- Participate in weekly supervision meetings and performance reviews.
- Collaborate closely with supervisors, colleagues, and community service providers.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Services are delivered in person throughout New Haven and Bridgeport.
- Some evening or after-hours work may be required to meet client needs.
- Role includes occasional physical activity, such as assisting with apartment setup and moving household items.
Please note: This is a fully on-site role and is not hybrid or remote.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as social work, education, anthropology, psychology, international studies, women’s studies, public health, or similar.
- At least 2 years of client-facing experience or 1 year working with vulnerable or underserved populations.
- Familiarity with Afghan culture and resettlement experiences.
- Strong organizational, communication, and prioritization skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with diverse teams and service providers.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using client databases.
- Reliable vehicle, valid U.S. driver’s license, and active auto insurance.
- Ability to assist with physical tasks related to housing setup.
- Flexibility to accommodate occasional after-hours services.
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluency in Dari and/or Pashto strongly preferred.
