In this high-impact Production Manager role, you’ll lead potential expansion of Roxtec's regional and domestic product capability and scale our large-volume automated production from infancy. You’ll partner with global colleagues to accelerate potential site development and bring best practices to life, creating the systems, teams, and training that keep quality, safety, and delivery world-class. This role is a key player to the potential expansion of Roxtec in the US. 


 

Job Summary 

The Production Unit Manager will manage local manufacturing teams including automated production lines and a team of planners, coordinators & material handlers. They will also coordinate with Technical and Customer Support (TACS), Logistics, and Shipping departments to provide a high level of customer service. The position reports to the Operations Manager. 


Essential Job Functions   

  • Serve as project team member for the Roxtec Tulsa site development & any future expansion projects 
  • Participate in various regional, global, and pre-study projects related to production 
  • Coordinate & support the procurement, installation and startup of automated production equipment with support from Roxtec International and consultants  
  • Develop, document and maintain operator training programs for equipment & systems 
  • Develop, document and maintain quality control and management processes for automated production 
  • Partner with Human Resources to develop & manage international operator exchange training program 
  • Develop and document operating & maintenance procedures for semi-automated production equipment with support from Roxtec International and consultants 
  • Develop regional material and component suppliers as needed 
  • Support development of regional suppliers for new product lines to support regional production initiatives 
  • Able to travel internationally for 60–90-day periods as needed for training and knowledge exchange 

After proposed startup of Tulsa automated production, the following duties apply: 

  • Manage a team including planners and material coordinators with a focus on safety, quality and production schedule to meet or exceed company and customer needs 
  • Lead and participate in product & manufacturing cost analysis 
  • Lead initiatives to optimize responsible production unit output 
  • Regular production meetings with production teams to assure completion of shop orders on schedule 
  • Coordinate safety training and safety initiatives for responsible production team members & direct reports 
  • Lead industrialization projects for new products as needed 
  • Ensure daily activities related to production unit are managed including: 
  • Production Planning & Communication with Sales, Order Entry and Supply Chain teams 
  • Shop Orders and Purchase Requisitions as required to fulfill customer orders 
  • Daily SO material exception analysis & resolution 
  • Local material and component supplier management including supplier scorecard with support from the Quality Manager 
  • Manage the purchasing of raw materials to meet due dates and agreed lead times with outside suppliers, including regular supplier follow-up and quality validation. 
  • Develop and maintain reports on production unit performance and other KPI’s 
  • Initiate projects to resolve customer issues or inefficiencies related to the manufacture of customized solutions including RCA’s and CAPA. 
  • Assist in production unit risk assessment and mitigation activities 
  • Gather and report sustainability data related to production unit activities 
  • Assist your team’s supervisors in hiring, training, performance evaluations 
  • Other job duties as assigned  

Requirements  

  • Experience in managing large volume automated production teams 
  • Experience in the procurement, installation and startup of automated production equipment 
  • Experience leading large-scale production with strong project management skills 
  • Strong management experience building and leading high-performance teams 
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving and follow-through  
  • Must have strong mechanical aptitude 
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, logistics concepts and business procedures relating to data entry, order delivery & shipping with a focus on customer service are desirable. 
  • Solution oriented with a high focus of customer satisfaction  
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written  
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work 
  • Capable of making independent decisions and work with minimal supervision 
  • Must be able to thrive in a dynamic, fast paced environment, be a self-starter with a sense of urgency and personal responsibility to support the flow of production to support sales and growth strategy 

Education and Experience 

  • Minimum 3 years’ automated manufacturing & planning experience  
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, or equivalent experience
