Social Media Intern

CHEST is looking for motivated and talented individuals to join our team under our internship program for Summer 2026. The goal of this program is to help further develop your skills in a professional business setting, better preparing you for your future career.


As an intern, you will be working closely with a supervisor who will provide you with real hands-on projects and daily tasks. Interns will be able to apply classroom-based knowledge to projects and gain essential skills needed to be career-ready. CHEST interns will have the opportunity to CRUSH LUNG DISEASE by working alongside experienced, passionate professionals in a flexible, innovative, mission-driven hybrid environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support marketing & communications teams in organic and paid social media creation, posting, and tracking. 
  • Primary responsibility will be to schedule social posts, write post copy, and create social imagery. 
  • Additional responsibilities will include assisting with YouTube channel management (organizing video content, optimizing for SEO, creating thumbnails and playlists), video distribution tasks (uploading files, distributing embed codes), marketing campaign tasks, and research.
Requirements

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university, with a preferred major in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Social Media or related field.
  • Experience with social media marketing and brand promotion, either through coursework or previous internships/jobs
  • Experience writing marketing and communications content (social posts, blog posts, website copy, email copy, etc)
  • Experience with content development platforms like Canva preferred but not required (we can teach this)
  • Experience with social media scheduling platforms (Hubspot, Hootsuite, etc) preferred but not required (we can teach this)
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter who actively seeks out new projects


Additional Information:

The hourly pay for this position is $20 per hour. This position is anticipated to work 24 hours per week, in a hybrid work environment.
