Compensation:     $62,212 per year

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Latino Network seeks a bilingual, mission-driven, and service mindset professional with bi-cultural familiarity and proven nonprofit and community leadership experience. As part of the Economic Justice Department at Latino Network, the Workforce Development Programs Manager will supervise and support staff and work with the Director, Senior Manager, Economic Justice Program Managers, Latino Network Program Departments, external partners, and funders. The candidate will be responsible for program management and implementation, to achieve program, agency, and community goals.  The candidate will also contribute to a collegial and productive work environment and promote the organization’s vision and mission, prioritizing the team's well-being, fostering a culture of collaboration, harmony, and joy.


POSITION SUMMARY 

This position will work collaboratively to support the effectiveness of the Workforce Development Programs Manager and team. This position requires excellent follow-through, great attention to detail, strong writing skills, and excellent communication through one-on-one meetings, phone, email, and group communication with Latino Network community partners, staff, and program participants.  The person serving in this position must have experience in facilitation, supervision, budgeting, and program management, and be able to guide conversations clearly in English and Spanish. 


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Supervise Workforce and Talent Development programs staff in accordance with the organization's policies 
  • Manage the Workforce and Talent Development Programs within the Economic Justice Department, aligned with the department's and agency’s strategic priorities.
  • Maintains Economic Justice’s budget tracking system to meet agency fiscal deadlines, collaborating with the finance department and program teams to optimize financial processes. 
  • Responsible for timesheets, PTO, and expense requests and approvals.
  • Lead point of contact for workforce and professional development requests and inquiries, internally and externally.
  • Ensures the accuracy of the program reports, publications, and other documents that include proprietary and confidential information.
  • Ensure that records and documents are adequately organized in Google Drive and that file management follows protocol. 
  • Maintain effective and respectful working relationships with other agency members, partners, and community members, including those from diverse cultures or backgrounds or those who speak limited or no English. 
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Supports and collaborates with the Economic Justice Senior Manager,  Director of Economic Justice, and Program Managers, with other duties assigned as needed. 
Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION, AND EXPERIENCE 

  • Minimum 3 years combined education, training, and experience in workforce development or a related field. Examples of experience, education, and training that fulfill this requirement include, but are not limited to, volunteer or paid work, internships, community-based training and workshops, community college, trade school, university courses and degrees. Experience, training, and education from inside and outside of the United States are considered equally. Transferable skills and lived experience will be considered.
  • Supervisor experience managing culturally responsive funds and programming. 
  • Experience supervising teams with diverse backgrounds.
  • Workforce and professional development program coordination, implementation, or management experience. 
  • Experience working with multiple calendars, competing interests, and priorities.
  • Demonstrated competence with systems such as Google Suite tools, Word, Excel, and Adobe, or the ability to translate experience with other comparable systems. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, lead a team as a collaborative team member.
  • Demonstrated experience working with complex systems, agencies, and government and private organizations.
  • Excellent oral communication skills in Spanish and English (including public speaking). 
  • Business writing skills with the ability to compose reports, proposals, meeting minutes, and other business correspondence. 
  • Employ critical thinking and confidence in decision-making and carrying out actions. 
  • Respect for diversity; desire and ability to work cross-culturally. 
  • Knowledge of culturally based worldview and problem-solving practices of Latino individuals and families in urban neighborhoods impacted by racial inequity, poverty, and structural barriers required; bicultural preferred.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and automobile liability insurance required;  eligibility to be an insured driver under Latino Network’s Commercial Auto Liability preferred.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check as needed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Latino Network is a highly engaged work environment with satellite operations and positions performing work both onsite and remotely. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather); outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non-weather), and extreme heat (non-weather). This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
