What you’ll be doing? – The Role
As the Benefit & Leave Specialist you’ll be responsible for administering employee benefit programs and managing leave of absence processes while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations across multiple states.
This position plays a critical role in delivering a positive employee experience, supporting managers, and ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant benefits and leave administration.
Benefits Administration
- Administer and support company benefit programs, including medical, dental, vision, life, disability, HSA/FSA/HRA, and voluntary benefits
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefit questions, enrollments, life events, and coverage changes
- Coordinate annual open enrollment, including employee communications, system updates, and carrier file feeds
- Partner with payroll to ensure accurate deductions and timely updates
- Audit benefit enrollments and resolve discrepancies
Leave of Absence Management
- Administer leave of absence programs including FMLA, state paid family/medical leave, CFRA (where applicable), ADA-related leaves, workers’ compensation coordination, and company medical leaves
- Guide employees and managers through the leave process, including eligibility, documentation, timelines, and return-to-work procedures
- Track and maintain accurate leave records and ensure timely notices and required documentation are provided
- Collaborate with third-party leave administrators when applicable
Compliance & HR Support
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws across multiple states
- Maintain accurate records in the HRIS and generate reports related to benefits and leave usage
- Assist with audits, policy updates, and HR projects as needed
- Support a growing, multi-state organization with evolving HR needs

- Pay range $ 60,000-70,000 (depends on qualifications and experience)

Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in benefits administration and leave of absence management
- Strong working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, and multi-state leave laws
- Experience working with HRIS and benefits administration systems. Paylocity exp preferred
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and follow-up skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism
- Excellent communication skills and a customer-service mindset
Work schedule: 8:30am-5:00pm In-Person Monday through Friday
