Key Responsibilities:  

The Quality Group Intern will support the Quality organization across multiple areas of the business, including generator manufacturing, microgrid construction projects, and ongoing operation and maintenance activities. This role provides broad exposure to quality systems, compliance, documentation, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives that span both manufacturing and field-based environments. The intern will assist in maintaining quality processes, supporting process improvements, and helping ensure compliance with internal procedures, customer requirements, and applicable codes and standards. 


Quality Systems & Compliance Support 

  • Assist with maintaining and organizing quality system documentation, procedures, and records 
  • Support compliance activities related to applicable standards (e.g., ISO 9001, customer specifications, regulatory requirements) 
  • Help prepare documentation and records for internal, customer, or third-party audits 

Nonconformance & Corrective Action Support 

  • Assist in logging, tracking, and maintaining nonconformances, deficiencies, and quality issues 
  • Support root cause analysis efforts by collecting data, photos, and supporting evidence 
  • Help track corrective and preventive actions through closure 

Data Analysis & Reporting 

  • Support collection and basic analysis of quality data across manufacturing, construction, and operations 
  • Assist with preparation of quality metrics, dashboards, and summary reports 
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, or improvement opportunities 

Continuous Improvement & Lessons Learned 

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality improvement projects 
  • Assist in capturing lessons learned from projects, field activities, and production 
  • Support standardization of best practices across generator production and microgrid projects 
Requirements

 

Basic (Required) Qualifications: 

  • Pursuing a specific degree is not required (Engineering or Business is preferred) 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset 
  • Strong written and verbal Communication skills 
  • Time management and adaptability in a dynamic work environment  
  • Ability to work in across office, manufacturing and field environments  

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Coursework or exposure to quality management systems or project/process controls 
  • Basic understanding of industry standards or codes (ISO, UL, NEC, or similar) 
  • Data collection and analysis skills  
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills 

Learning Outcomes 

  • Broad understanding of quality across manufacturing, construction, and operations 
  • Exposure to audits, corrective actions, and continuous improvement processes 
  • Hands-on experience supporting quality initiatives in energy and power systems

This is a paid, temporary summer internship. Conversion to full-time employment is not guaranteed and will be evaluated based on intern performance, business needs, and open positions at the conclusion of the program.  


This position will report to the Quality Director and will last for the duration of June-August 2026.  Interns are required to be eligible to work full-time (40 hours). This internship is based out of our headquarters in Houston, Texas.

Salary Description
