Position Summary
The Development Intern supports the Masonic Medical Research Institute’s Advancement team in the execution of donor engagement, stewardship, and general fundraising operations. This position provides hands-on experience in nonprofit development within a mission-driven biomedical research environment. The intern will assist with donor recognition efforts, visitor engagement, database management, and administrative support related to fundraising initiatives.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with donor recognition, stewardship, and acknowledgment initiatives.
- Support guided campus tours, special visits, and donor or stakeholder engagement activities.
- Maintain and improve the accuracy, organization, and integrity of the fundraising database.
- Provide administrative, logistical, and project support to the Advancement team as assigned.
- Assist with general fundraising operations and related tasks in support of MMRI’s mission.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Interest in nonprofit development, fundraising, healthcare, or biomedical research environments.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and other commonly used database and communication applications.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds, as required for event setup, materials handling, or related duties.
Work Environment
This role is based in a professional office and research campus setting and may include interaction with donors, visitors, and staff during tours or special events.
Salary Description
$16 per hour
