Tier 1 General Laborer
Description

Position Summary:

The Tier 1 General Laborer is responsible for assisting the team for day to day operations at construction site locations. These functions include, but are not limited to, job site maintenance, cleanup and prepare the worksite area for operations for the day.


Essential Functions:

  • Work as member of crew in all types of weather conditions and in all types of environmental conditions such as dirt, mud, concrete
  • Prepare the worksite area for operations, and assemble job materials at construction site locations
  • Assist in the overall construction and tear down of a project
  • Job site maintenance and cleanup
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Position, join, align, seal project components, such as concrete sections, pipes, etc.
  • Wreck and stack forms and job materials in order to move to the next project
  • Sign off on haul/delivery tickets
  • Report ALL incidents/injuries/complaints, etc., major or minor, to Foreman
  • Perform any other duties as seen required by the Foreman


Requirements

Physical Requirements:

Requires the mobility to perform vehicle operating duties.

The General Laborer has a physically strenuous and demanding job. He/she will be lifting, pulling and managing heavy equipment and objects.

The General Laborer will have to work in all weather, and must be prepared for both extreme heat and cold.

Ability to climb a ladder in and out of a trench.

  • Safety Vest - A safety vest is mandatory when performing work in traffic/pedestrian areas.
  • Hardhats - Hardhat use is mandatory on ALL job sites.
  • Hand Protection – Gloves are required to assure hand protection.
  • Foot Protection - Safety shoes are mandatory on all job sites (steel-toe)
  • Eye Protection – Safety glasses are mandatory while working on-site.
  • Always be aware of potential dangers and hazards around you while driving vehicles or operating equipment.
