Position Overview: The Systems Engineer will provide technical expertise and engineering support to the Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) Ground Combat Element Systems (GCES), Product Manager Infantry Weapons (PdM IW) at Quantico, VA. This role ensures compliance with DoW acquisition processes and supports system design, integration, and lifecycle management for infantry weapons and related systems. 


This Position is Contingent Upon Award 


Anticipated Start Date: June 2026 


Support Hours: Applicant shall be available during core work hours as established by the Government customer.

Clearance Required: Active Secret  
 

Travel Requirement: Approximately 10% 


Position Responsibilities: 

  • Provide systems engineering support for PdM IW programs, including requirements analysis, design, integration, and verification. 
  • Develop and maintain system specifications, interface control documents, and technical data packages. 
  • Support risk management, configuration management, and technical reviews throughout the acquisition lifecycle. 
  • Perform trade studies and analysis to support decision-making for system upgrades and new capabilities. 
  • Ensure compliance with DoD and USMC engineering standards and acquisition policies. 
  • Collaborate with program managers, logistics, and test teams to ensure system readiness and performance. 
Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in systems engineering within DoD acquisition programs. 
  • Knowledge of DoD 5000 series acquisition processes and SECNAVINST 5000.2. 
  • Experience with requirements management tools and system modeling techniques. 
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. 
  • Active Secret clearance required.  

Preferred Skills/Experience: 

  • Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline. 
  • Certified Defense Workforce Improvement Act Engineering and Technical Management Practitioner or civilian equivalent 
  • Experience with USMC infantry weapons systems and related technologies.
