Job Summary

The Deburring Specialist is responsible for removing burrs, sharp edges, and surface imperfections from machined, punched, laser-cut, or fabricated metal parts to ensure parts meet quality, safety, and customer specifications. This role plays a critical part in final part quality, downstream assembly, and overall production flow.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Remove burrs, sharp edges, slag, and surface defects from metal parts using hand tools, power tools, and/or deburring equipment
     
  • Read and interpret work orders, prints, and quality requirements
     
  • Inspect parts visually and with basic measuring tools to ensure conformance to specifications
     
  • Perform secondary finishing operations such as sanding, grinding, polishing, brushing, or tumbling
     
  • Maintain consistent quality and finish standards across parts
     
  • Identify and communicate quality issues, defects, or recurring problems to supervisors or quality personnel
     
  • Handle parts safely to prevent damage or injury
     
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards
     
  • Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
     
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and efficiency
     
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production needs
     

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
     
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing or production environment preferred
     
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and hand tool experience
     
  • Ability to read basic blueprints and follow work instructions
     
  • Strong attention to detail and quality
     
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as required
     
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
     

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deburring machined, laser-cut, punched, or fabricated metal parts
     
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, or gauges
     
  • Experience working with aluminum, steel, stainless steel, or other metals
     
  • Knowledge of manufacturing quality standards
