In-Store Display Merchandiser (Field-based)

Job Summary


The In-Store Display Merchandiser is a field-based role responsible for executing corporate-designed furniture layouts across multiple showrooms within a region. This position travels to retail locations to bring floor plans and merchandising concepts to life, working closely with store leadership and a small support crew to efficiently install, adjust, and maintain showroom displays. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable traveling, and confident directing on-site execution while adhering closely to brand standards.

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel to assigned showrooms to execute corporate-provided floor plans and merchandising maps
  • Coordinate with store General Managers prior to visits and align on goals and expectations upon arrival
  • Develop a clear plan for each visit and direct a small on-site support crew (1–2 people) during execution
  • Move, place, and style furniture and accessories to reflect approved designs and brand standards
  • Ensure new product is placed on the floor efficiently and showrooms remain clean organized, and customer-ready
  • Identify   layout or space constraints and communicate issues to corporate for guidance before making changes
  • Document showroom updates through notes and images and submit weekly recaps to corporate teams
  • Maintain strong product knowledge to support informed styling decisions and on-site recommendations

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent (associate degree in visual merchandising, design, or related field preferred)
  • 1–3years of visual merchandising or retail display experience; furniture or home goods experience preferred
  • Experience supporting or executing merchandising across multiple store locations
  • Ability to interpret floor plans, maps, and visual guidelines with accuracy and consistency
  • Comfortable lifting and moving furniture; able to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods

Work Environment & Travel

  • Field-based role supporting multiple retail showrooms within a single region
  • Daily driving required; must use personal vehicle
  • Travel approximately once per month, with overnight stays.
  •  Travel locations; Spokane, WA, Portland, OR Stark Street, Portland, OR Delta Park, Tigard, OR, Salem, OR, Boise,   Nampa, ID.
  • Physical role involving lifting, moving, and arranging furniture
Salary Description
$65,000-$75,000
