Systems & Security Engineer

We're seeking an IT Systems & Security Administrator who will play a vital role in protecting and advancing the technology that powers our mission. You'll ensure our team members can focus on changing lives—knowing their systems are secure, reliable, and compliant.
This role is onsite in Grandville, Michigan.
The salary for this position is $75,000 annually.
What You'll Do:
This role is key in maintaining the technological foundation that enables Goodwill to serve our community. Your work will directly impact our ability to deliver services, protect sensitive information, and operate efficiently as we help thousands of people build better futures through employment.
Core Responsibilities:
• Design, deploy, and maintain secure, compliant infrastructure that keeps our mission running smoothly
• Protect systems and data through proactive threat monitoring, incident response, and access management
• Lead the implementation and optimization of AI solutions (including M365 Copilot) that enhance our team's ability to serve the community
• Develop and deliver security awareness training that empowers staff to be our first line of defense
• Support compliance efforts and risk assessments that maintain trust with the communities we serve
• Create clear documentation and procedures that ensure continuity of our critical services
Technical Expertise:
• Azure and Office 365 administration
• Cloud security and compliance frameworks
• Cybersecurity threat detection and incident response
• Microsoft Purview, Defender, and EDR/ATP tools
• Virtualization (Hyper-V, Azure)
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
• Network management (Cisco Meraki experience valued)
Leadership & Strategic Thinking:
• Ability to contribute to IT strategic planning with security-first mindset
• Experience leading or supporting risk assessments, compliance audits, and security projects
• Capacity to evaluate emerging technologies (especially AI) for feasibility, governance, and organizational value
Communication & Training:
• Skill in creating and delivering technology training for diverse audiences
• Strong documentation abilities—translating complex technical concepts into clear policies and procedures
• Help desk support experience and user-focused problem-solving
