Habitat for Humanity of Omaha is seeking a Development Event Coordinator to support and execute fundraising events, internal celebrations, and community engagement initiatives. This role focuses on event logistics, committee coordination, volunteer management, donor relations, and ensuring exceptional experiences for attendees and partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and eager to grow into a leadership role within event management. This role will report to the Development officer of Corporate Giving.
What You’ll Do
- Plan and execute events:
Coordinate fundraising and internal events such as Brew Haha, a Golf Tournament, Women’s Power Luncheon, Legacy Society events, and other signature experiences. - Coordinate event logistics:
Oversee timelines, vendor relationships, venue coordination, and on-site execution to ensure seamless, professional events. - Support sponsorships and in-kind solicitation:
Assist with solicitation and coordination of sponsorships, raffle items, auctions, and donated goods. - Engage volunteers and committees:
Organize and communicate with volunteers and event committees, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities, and follow-through. - Collaborate with communications:
Partner with the Communications Team to support event marketing materials, promotions, and timelines. - Track budgets and details:
Monitor event budgets, expenses, and logistics to help ensure financial goals are met. - Build community connections:
Attend networking and community events to strengthen partnerships and increase awareness of Habitat Omaha’s mission. - Support development initiatives:
Assist the broader Development Team with campaign-related and donor-focused event logistics. - Contribute where needed:
Take on additional responsibilities that support organizational goals and team success.

What You Bring
- Experience:
2–3 years of experience in event planning, fundraising, or a related field. - Education:
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field), or equivalent experience.
Strengths & Capabilities:
- Organization & execution: Highly detail-oriented with strong project management skills.
- Communication: Clear, professional communicator with volunteers, vendors, and partners.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working across teams and with diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptability: Willing to pitch in, problem-solve, and flex as events evolve.
Additional Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with social media and event technology tools.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for occasional evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license.
