Description
Role Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for driving financial planning and analysis, overseeing cost accounting, and maintaining strong internal controls to support accurate reporting and informed decision-making. This role partners closely with operations and leadership to improve financial performance, manage risk, and ensure compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning processes
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results versus budget and forecast
- Develop financial models to support strategic initiatives, pricing decisions, and capital investments
- Provide clear, actionable insights to senior leadership through dashboards and presentations
Cost Accounting & Operational Finance
- Oversee cost accounting processes, variance analysis, and margin analysis
- Partner with operations to understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reduction
- Ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS) reporting
- Support continuous improvement initiatives with financial analysis and KPI tracking
Internal Controls & Compliance
- Design, implement, and maintain effective internal controls over financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS), and applicable regulations
- Lead or support internal and external audits, including documentation and remediation of findings
- Continuously assess and improve financial processes to reduce risk and increase efficiency
Financial Reporting & Leadership
- Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and leadership
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed
Requirements
Qualifications Required
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or a related field
- 5+ years of progressive finance experience, with strong exposure to FP&A and cost accounting
- Solid understanding of internal controls and financial reporting processes
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with ERP and financial planning systems
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder-management skills
Preferred
- CPA, CMA, or MBA
- Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or cost-intensive environments
