Founded in 1992, After-School All-Stars is a national non-profit organization which provides free, daily afterschool programs to more than 150,000 children in need at 728 school and community sites in 18 chapters across the U.S. Our goals for our All-Stars are the same that we have for our own children: to be healthy and active, to graduate high school and go on to college, to find a job that they love and to give back to their communities. We achieve this by identifying and fueling our students' individual passions, tying their interests to tailored academic support, enrichment and health and fitness programming. 


A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY:

 After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is seeking a National Federal Grant Finance Manager to join its national team. The ideal candidate will work directly with the Controller of Finance to manage, track, and report to the organization’s growing portfolio of federal government and national grants. This position will play a critical role in ensuring timely spend-down and reimbursement of federal grants in close collaboration with the finance, development and programs teams, as well as chapters across the ASAS network. This role is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys collaboration, has a meticulous eye for detail, is proactive in managing up, down, and across the organization, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Controller of Finance and will work in person at our LA Headquarters. 


SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITES: 

• Oversee finances for a portfolio of national grants from federal agencies including Department of Labor, Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, and AmeriCorps

• Collaborate with the Development team to review grant agreements and submit timely financial reports in alignment with grant requirements. 

• Partner with Programs Department and ASAS chapters to collect invoices and other documentation related to grant expenditures and monitor spend down 

• File reimbursements from federal agencies to ensure timely replenishment of cash flow and record accordingly in Financial Edge 

• Collaborate with the Development team to develop grant budgets for new grant proposals.

• Maintain grant compliance and reporting, including outcome measurement and grant budgets—taking responsibility for meeting high standards of effectiveness, timeliness, and completeness, including

      o Monitoring and maintaining funder reporting schedules and requirements.

      o Reporting on reimbursements and drawdowns as needed. 

• Other duties as assigned.

WHO SHOULD APPLY?

ASAS is looking for a motivated self-starter, in addition to the following: 

• A minimum of 3 years of hands-on financial, accounting, operational, and analysis experience in a medium-large sized non-profit experience a plus

• Strong, first-hand knowledge of government grant receivables and invoicing. 

• A CPA or a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred.

• Ability to be discreet with sensitive information.

• Strong organizational skills, with excellent attention to detail 

• Excellent oral and written communication. Strong track record of building relationships with other senior managers and department heads. 

• Financial Software, including Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge, Blackbaud software affiliate partners, is preferred. 

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. 

• Sit for extended periods of the day. 


 SALARY AND BENEFITS:
