MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B.S. Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years’ experience in electronics manufacturing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in acoustic and/or electrical test

ABOUT THE JOB!

The primary objective of this position is to craft and enhance test methods and procedures, troubleshoot issues related to production and quality assurance testing, and drive test methodology and efficiency improvements in a fast paced and dynamic manufacturing environment. Additionally, the role involves adapting to changes, which may include the integration of new testing technologies, shaping of new test architectures and meeting evolving customer requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting: Provide support to resolve test-related issues during production, minimizing downtime. Serve as the technical lead for production testing and operator training.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze First Pass Yield data for trends and patterns, collaborating with the technical team to improve product design and manufacturing processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify process enhancement opportunities and work with cross-functional teams to optimize methods, fixtures, reduce test cycle times, and enhance overall efficiency. Apply statistical analysis and Lean/Six Sigma principles to improve legacy test processes.
  • Quality Control: Perform quality checks to verify product compliance with specifications and standards, addressing non-conformance issues. Complete IQ/OQ/PQ processes.
  • Documentation: Create and update detailed test procedures, plans, and records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Test Development: Collaborate across teams to design and develop tests for new and existing production lines, ensuring product compliance with performance and quality standards. Contribute insights to enhance testing during new product development.
  • Test Automation: Implement and maintain automated test systems to boost efficiency and accuracy, utilizing relevant automation tools and scripting languages.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee test equipment, including calibration, troubleshooting, and repairs to ensure uninterrupted operation.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  

  • Demonstrated expertise in test engineering within a manufacturing setting, particularly in electromechanical assemblies, electronics and/or acoustic product manufacturing.
  • Strong familiarity with various test equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, spectrum analyzers, listen stations, and automated test systems.
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., LabVIEW, TestStand, MATLAB).
  • Exceptional problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Advanced analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and apply statistical analysis tools.
  • Knowledge of quality management system standards (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001) and related process improvement methodologies.
  • Basic knowledge with Process Control tools, and statistical techniques. Gage R&R or similar Measurement System Analysis experience preferred 
  • Functional understanding of ERP systems for data collection and task completion, SAP experience preferred.
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills 
  • Team focused with the demonstrated ability to participate in collaborative cross-functional teams
