Position Overview
The VP of Business Development will lead the full sales cycle for targeted healthcare prospects—from initial outreach to deal closure. This role requires strong prospecting skills, the ability to build trusted relationships with senior-level decision-makers, and the analytical capability to craft compelling proposals and financial proformas.
You will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, implementation, and internal leadership to create a seamless experience for prospective clients and drive measurable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive all stages of the sales cycle, including prospecting, cold outreach, presentations, solution design, and contract negotiation.
- Make daily outbound calls and engage prospects in healthcare, senior living, and related markets—this is a true hunter role.
- Qualify, nurture, and convert inbound leads to maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
- Analyze prospect needs, identify key decision makers, and communicate complex solution value clearly and effectively.
- Develop and deliver presentations, proposals, and pricing models.
- Maintain accurate pipeline, activity, and forecasting data in the CRM system.
- Support and participate in tradeshows, webinars, and industry events.
- Partner with marketing to refine lead-generation strategies and outreach campaigns.
- Build long-term relationships with existing clients to support satisfaction and retention.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop best practices for onboarding new clients.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support the organization’s growth.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of sales experience, preferably in the healthcare revenue cycle industry.
- Established network among top health systems and healthcare senior leaders.
- Demonstrated track record of consistently achieving revenue goals and quotas.
- Strong ability to generate activity through personal relationships and outbound prospecting.
- Experience using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms for lead generation and pipeline management.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field—or equivalent experience.
- Experience coaching or supporting structured sales processes.
