Description

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, supervising warehouse associates, and ensuring the safe, efficient receipt, storage, and distribution of goods. This role provides hands-on leadership to drive operational excellence, maintain inventory accuracy, uphold safety standards, and continuously improve warehouse processes. The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates labor, supports logistics functions, and fosters a high-performance team environment while delivering excellent internal and external customer service.


Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Supervise warehouse associates and coordinate daily warehouse activities to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timely order fulfillment.
  • Assign duties, set performance expectations, and provide ongoing coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving operations, including unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, and distributing materials for processing.
  • Prepare and manage shipping and transportation documentation.
  • Ensure all goods are properly stored, handled, and delivered to their destinations on time.
  • Maintain accurate warehouse records and inventory documentation.
  • Coordinate and participate in physical inventories, cycle counts, and inventory control processes.
  • Manage and maintain warehouse tools, equipment, and supplies, including ordering equipment as needed.
  • Monitor space utilization and organize inventory to maximize efficiency and storage capacity.
  • Develop, document, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve workflows and operational performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, accuracy, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, warehouse procedures, and OSHA safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality customer service standards within warehouse operations.
  • Track performance metrics and support key performance indicators (KPIs) related to warehouse operations.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, and other computer programs to support operations and reporting.
  • Promote a strong team culture focused on safety, accountability, quality, and performance excellence.
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and coordinate a team.

  • Solid understanding of warehouse operations, logistics, inventory management, and distribution processes.
  • Basic math and accounting skills for inventory and documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents, reports, and procedures.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems, ERP software, and basic computer applications including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment.

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a warehouse or distribution environment in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Previous hands-on warehouse operations experience required.
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Work performed in a warehouse and distribution environment.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl throughout the workday.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds.
  • Ability to use hands and arms to handle materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to operate powered industrial equipment as required (subject to physical qualifications including vision, hearing, and reaction time).
  • Ability to drive a company vehicle when necessary; valid driver’s license required.

Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
