Reports to: Chief Surgical Officer & Clinical Director
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Mondays and Tuesdays, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM 


 

Position Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Part-Time PACU Support Technician at the North Valley Surgery Center. This position plays a vital role in the daily operations of the surgery center by supporting patient flow and ensuring timely transportation of equipment, supplies, and materials between departments.


The PACU Support Technician helps ensure our surgical team have the resources they need to provide high-quality patient care in a safe and efficient environment. This role offers a consistent, part-time schedule and an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to patient care and operational support.


 

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport medical equipment, supplies, and patient files throughout the vision center and surgery center as needed.
  • Assist with preparing areas for surgeries and procedures by ensuring required tools, supplies, and equipment are available. 
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and equipment-handling protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of transport carts and equipment.
  • Assist with general housekeeping duties in transport and support areas.
  • Ensure all equipment and materials are returned to designated locations after use.
  • Collaborate with surgical and administrative staff to meet transportation and support needs in a timely manner.
  • Complete transportation tasks efficiently and in compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Report equipment damage or maintenance needs promptly to appropriate personnel.
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.  
  • Ability to follow safety and infection control protocols in a healthcare environment.  
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.  
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.  
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.  
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with staff and patients.  
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a healthcare, surgical, or medical setting.
  • Familiarity with basic medical equipment and procedures.

 

Physical Requirements & Typical Working Conditions

Work Environment

  • Primarily a temperature-controlled healthcare facility.

Physical Demands

  • Prolonged standing, bending, stooping, and stretching.
  • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination to operate equipment and office tools.
  • Normal hearing and vision required for communication and safety awareness.
  • Occasional lifting of equipment or supplies up to 50 pounds.
  • Position may require travel using a company-provided vehicle.

 

Essential Physical Tasks

  • Sight: Ability to read documents and view images on a computer monitor. 
  • Smell: Ability to detect smoke or burning odors.
  • Hearing: Ability to communicate in person, by phone, or via video and detect ambient sounds.
  • Touch: Ability to operate office and transport equipment.
  • Mobility/Strength: Ability to lift, twist, reach, kneel, squat, sit, walk, stand, and bend throughout the shift.
