The Advocacy Services Associate works to ensure the smooth daily operation of the advocacy services program. This position is responsible for administration and operations tasks and support for Advocacy Services. This position may assist with other programmatic tasks as needed and directed, ensuring seamless provision of services. This position requires excellent organizational, oral and written communication skills, and an ability to multi-task effectively. This position may require participation in the on-call rotation for after hours and weekend advocacy services support. This position is a mandated reporter for child abuse and neglect under District of Columbia Statute §4-1321.02 when not acting within a role that would provide an exemption to this mandate.

Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree required. Bachelor’s Degree required with two (2) years of relevant administrative work experience preferred. Ability to organize and prioritize tasks to maximize results and ensure deadlines are met. Ability to be a self-starter, to work independently and be flexible and adjust to quickly changing schedule, handle distractions and interruptions. Willingness to establish and maintain positive working relationships while collaborating with a wide range of professionals including law enforcement, social services, medical and mental health providers. Knowledge of cultural humility and ability to exhibit sensitivity in dealing with people of varied backgrounds, beliefs, and abilities. Excellent communication skills, positive attitude and professional demeanor and attitude. Must have a valid driver’s license and automobile.
Preferred Qualifications Oral and written Spanish fluency preferred.
Computer/Technology Skills High level of comfort with technology and proficiency with MS Office applications and the internet.
