Middle School Baseball/Softball Coach
Description

The Middle School Baseball and Softball Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes’ skills while fostering teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive athletic experience. The coach plans and leads practices, coaches games, and supports the academic and personal growth of students in alignment with MILTON’s values.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, organize, and conduct safe, effective and age-appropriate practices.
  • Attend and coach all scheduled games.
  • Teach fundamental baseball/softball skills, strategies, and rules appropriate for middle school athletics.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, respect, and character development.
  • Supervise student-athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities.
  • Ensure player safety, including proper equipment use and injury prevention protocols.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, school staff, and administrators.
  • Enforce school, athletic department, and administration codes of conduct.
  • Collaborate with the athletic director on scheduling, logistics, and program needs.
  • Support academic expectations.



Requirements
  • Experience coaching baseball/softball or playing at the high school, collegiate, or equivalent level preferred.
  • Knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and age-appropriate training methods.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with middle school students and families.
  • Certified CPR/First Aid preferred.
  • Completion of required background check
