Roers Companies is seeking an energetic, dedicated professional to join our team in Plymouth, MN as a Development Intern for Summer 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts market analysis and project feasibility
  • Researches the market viability of new projects
  • Originates new projects in various markets
  • Compiles financing request packages for lenders, investors, and state agencies.
  • Models proforma and discounted cash flows for affordable housing and market rate transactions
  • Secures financing (low-income housing tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, Freddie Mac/Fannie Mae/HUD debt financing)
  • Works through closing and due diligence checklists to get to a financial closing.
  • Reviews investment agreements and contracts
  • Project planning
  • Partners with construction to learn about the design process
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Education:

  • Current undergraduate of a four-year Bachelor degree program in Real Estate, Finance, or related field
  • High school diploma or GED

Experience:

  • Active participation in Real Estate clubs/groups preferred.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong  interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel,  One Note, Outlook, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Exceptional communication skills and  ability to interact with a wide range of people.
  • Financially astute with a strong  attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex deals in an efficient manner.
  • Capacity to work cross functionally with  various departments.
  • Superior organization skills and the  ability to multi-task, prioritize, and deliver results in a timely manner.
  • Entrepreneurial  ownership mindset –makes smart decisions for business, puts clients and teammates first, collaborative, inquisitive, self-motivated, and operates  on trust (not fear).
  • High  integrity – trusted, direct, truthful. Embodies confidence and admits mistakes.

  • Ability to perform the physical functions of the position, which may include, but are not limited to; ability to walk property, including up to 6 flights of stairs, to complete physical inspections.

Pay: $22.00 / hr
