What You Will Be Doing
EMA is seeking a Senior Maintenance Management Consultant to support water and wastewater utilities in improving maintenance programs, asset management practices, and operational decision-making.
This role supports EMA’s Asset & Work Management (AWM) practice by leading complex client engagements, mentoring associates, contributing to business development, and delivering practical, data-driven solutions that meet client business needs.
· Building relationships with stakeholders from executive leadership to operations staff
· Facilitating workshops, training sessions, and working meetings
· Mapping business processes and identifying improvement opportunities
· Analyzing maintenance, asset, and organizational data to develop recommendations
· Developing implementation roadmaps and coaching clients through adoption
· Supporting EAM/CMMS selection, implementation, and optimization efforts
· Establishing standards (asset hierarchy, naming conventions, criticality, priorities, work types)
· Applying maintenance and reliability strategies (PM, PdM, CBM, RCM)
· Supporting or facilitating RCA and FMEA sessions
· Mentoring junior consultants and collaborating across EMA practice areas

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related field
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Experience
- 5+ years in maintenance management, asset management, reliability engineering, or consulting
- Experience working with utilities, industrial operations, or field service organizations
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills
- Experience leading portions of projects or workstreams
Nice to Have
- Strong working knowledge of widely used EAM/CMMS systems, including SAP, Oracle WAM, Infor EAM, Maximo, Cityworks, Avantis, and similar platforms
- Extensive practical understanding of maintenance practices for mechanical and electrical equipment, instrumentation, and piping systems commonly found in water and wastewater utilities
- Ability to work closely with Project Managers and senior asset management consultants to analyze utility maintenance processes and data, support system-related solutions, and perform consulting tasks related to business process analysis and improvement
- Experience leveraging data (including CMMS and GIS data) to support asset management decision-making and performance improvement
