Western National is seeking a Salesforce Developer IV to join our team!


The individual in this role will have the opportunity to collaboratively design, implement, test, and deploy high-impact application modifications, as well as automation to improve business and software practices and processes. The individual in this role will effectively mentor and share knowledge with others. 


Role Summary

The Salesforce Developer IV serves as a senior technical leader responsible for the design, development, and operational excellence of Western National’s Salesforce platform. This role provides architectural guidance, mentors internal team members, and delivers technical direction and oversight for external and offshore development partners. The individual in this role ensures Salesforce solutions are scalable, secure, high-quality, and aligned with long-term platform strategy and business objectives.


What are the responsibilities and opportunities of this role?

  • Leads the design, development, unit-testing, and deployment of high-impact Salesforce application enhancements aligned with business requirements and architectural standards.
  • Serves as a technical authority for Salesforce solution design, ensuring solutions are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with Western National’s long-term Salesforce roadmap.
  • Provides technical leadership, direction, and oversight to offshore team members and external Salesforce partners, and acts as the primary technical liaison between internal teams and vendors.
  • Reviews vendor and internally delivered designs and code to ensure adherence to development standards, security requirements, and Salesforce best practices.
  • Participates in work refinement, estimation, and release planning processes in collaboration with product teams and change control partners.
  • Actively participates in team sprints, contributing to the ongoing development of our Salesforce platform alongside our other developers.
  • Leads troubleshooting, resolution, and communication of production issues, mobilizing cross-team action as needed to restore service and prevent recurrence.
  • Identifies and drives opportunities for automation, process improvement, and increased efficiency across the Salesforce ecosystem, with emphasis on quality and user experience.
  • Creates and maintains technical documentation, specifications, and design artifacts required by the product team or organization.
  • Mentors and coaches team members, guiding solution trade-offs and fostering growth in technical skills and engineering best practices.
  • Ensures timely delivery of projects and tasks, and proactively communicates risks, delays, and roadblocks to team members and leadership.
  • Consistently acts according to Western National’s customer experience standards and identifies opportunities to improve customer experience and adoption.
  • Collaborates and supports primary customers, including internal teammates, product team leadership, cross-functional partners, vendors, and business users.
  • Supports the Salesforce application via on-call rotation as necessary.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements

What are the must-have qualifications for a candidate?

  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion.
  • Strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to consistently communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing with technical and non-technical audiences throughout the organization.
  • Proficient use of various office and computer equipment, software packages, and various core systems.
  • Five or more years of hands-on experience with Salesforce.
  • Advanced level effectiveness in Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and Experience Cloud.
  • Advanced level effectiveness with Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Salesforce Flows, SOQL / SOSL.
  • Advanced level effectiveness with Salesforce integration patterns (REST, SOAP, Platform Events).
  • Advanced level effectiveness with required code versioning and deployment software / tools.
  • Broad exposure to and intermediate level knowledge of multiple technology stacks and frameworks, and additional core systems.
  • Mentors and shares knowledge with others to increase others’ knowledge and skill on all of the above.
  • Bachelor of Science in computer science, math, information management, or statistics is preferred; experience in lieu of education is acceptable.

What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex Salesforce solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience leading Salesforce delivery with offshore or vendor partners. 
  • Demonstrated advanced organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to accomplish multiple priorities of high impact and risk within specified timeframes.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with all product team members and with other teams.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of relevant project methodologies at product team and cross-team levels.
  • Ability to proactively and adaptively mentor others, resulting in increased effectiveness in multiple areas of knowledge or skill of colleagues who have a variety of learning approaches.
  • Effective communication with and influence of decision makers, product owners, and product team to prioritize technical product improvements to meet company and industry standards.

Compensation Overview

The targeted hiring range for this role is $112,300 - $160,600, annually. However, the base pay offered may vary depending on the job-related knowledge, skills, credentials, and experience of each candidate, as well as other factors such as the scope and location of the role. Candidates looking for compensation outside of the posted range are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their individual qualifications and / or may be considered for other positions.
