About the Role

Ally Psychiatry is seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our outpatient clinic in Montgomery, AL. You will provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care in a collaborative, supportive team environment. Our practice focuses on comprehensive outpatient mental health treatment — with opportunities for professional growth and excellent work-life balance. 


Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and follow-up care
     
  • Provide evidence-based, patient-centered treatment in outpatient settings
     
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including psychiatrists, therapists, and clinical staff
     
  • Participate in weekend call obligation approximately one weekend per month
     
  • Maintain accurate medical records and uphold clinical best practices
     

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday outpatient clinic schedule
     
  • Weekend call (phone/coverage rotation)

Requirements

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must possess a minimum of a Master of Science in Nursing. 
  • Those six years are composed of a 4-year undergraduate nursing program followed by a 2-year nurse practitioner master's program that includes psychiatric nursing.
  • Must have or pursuing a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Prior experience in providing mental health counseling services within a clinical setting

  • Must possess a State License to practice Nursing and it must be in good standing.
  • Must possess the knowledge base in health promotion maintenance, advanced pathophysiology, advanced health assessment and pharmacology for advanced practice nurses.
  • Must possess the following concepts: individual and family psychotherapy, psychiatric-mental health nursing across the lifespan, advanced assessment in psychiatric-mental health nursing and psychopharmacology.
