What You’ll Do

  • Learn and execute daily meat department operations including opening/closing procedures and production planning
  • Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe work areas while ensuring product freshness and accurate labeling
  • Support inventory management, ordering, shrink control, and waste reduction initiatives
  • Execute merchandising standards including promotional displays, end caps, and seasonal features
  • Assist customers with meat selections, preparation questions, and product recommendations
  • Support leadership functions including training, coaching, scheduling, and labor efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and FIFO procedures
  • Complete management training and development activities while building leadership skills
  • Support a positive, customer-focused, high-performing team culture
  • Follow all company policies, workplace safety standards, and department procedures


What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous supervisory experience in a meat department, butcher shop, grocery, or retail environment preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of inventory management, product rotation, and merchandising practices
  • Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
  • Basic computer and technology skills
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
  • Flexible full-time availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)


Work Environment

  • Fast-paced grocery store meat department
  • Exposure to refrigerated coolers, freezers, and sharp cutting equipment
  • Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
