What You’ll Do
- Learn and execute daily meat department operations including opening/closing procedures and production planning
- Maintain clean, organized, and food-safe work areas while ensuring product freshness and accurate labeling
- Support inventory management, ordering, shrink control, and waste reduction initiatives
- Execute merchandising standards including promotional displays, end caps, and seasonal features
- Assist customers with meat selections, preparation questions, and product recommendations
- Support leadership functions including training, coaching, scheduling, and labor efficiency
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, temperature control, and FIFO procedures
- Complete management training and development activities while building leadership skills
- Support a positive, customer-focused, high-performing team culture
- Follow all company policies, workplace safety standards, and department procedures
What We’re Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous supervisory experience in a meat department, butcher shop, grocery, or retail environment preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of inventory management, product rotation, and merchandising practices
- Excellent customer service skills and professionalism
- Basic computer and technology skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Food Handler Permit required (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Flexible full-time availability (days, evenings, weekends, holidays)
Work Environment
- Fast-paced grocery store meat department
- Exposure to refrigerated coolers, freezers, and sharp cutting equipment
- Standing for extended periods; lifting up to 50 lbs
