Learning and Development Specialist

General Responsibilities:


The Learning and Development Specialist creates and delivers a range of learning solutions, which can include workshops, e-learning modules, and coaching sessions. The ultimate aim is to equip employees with the knowledge and abilities needed to succeed in their roles and advance their careers.


Essential Duties:

  1. Identifies skill or knowledge gaps among the organization’s employee population and develops training content or training solutions in response to identified training needs.
  2. Select training tools or training delivery mechanisms, based on the material being taught and the audience being targeted.
  3. Conducts need assessments to identify training needs.
  4. Partners with the Talent Management Partner to create development plans for various career paths throughout the organization.
  5. Creates and maintains course content, manuals, or other training materials to include virtual learning. 
  6. Responsible for assigning training, track data, run reports and own the management of the learning and development platform.
  7. Responsible for managing the learning and development platform and training preparation.
  8. Partners with the organizational leadership and the Talent Management Partner to develop department specific curricula for onboarding. 
  9. Manage the Learning Management System (LMS) including assigning training, tracking data, and running reports.
  10. Prepare and coordinate training logistics for all training programs. 

Ancillary Duties:

  1. Perform tasks which are supportive in nature to the essential functions of the job, but which may be altered or re-designed depending upon individual circumstances and business needs.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:


Education/Training: Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred


Skill(s): Proficiency with Microsoft Office suit, with strong knowledge of PowerPoint. Ideal candidate has experience in designing, facilitating and implementing training programs, primarily pertaining to soft skills/leadership development. The individual should demonstrate proficiency conducting needs assessments to identify training opportunities. This role involves identifying skill gaps within the workforce and creating educational initiatives that align with the organization’s strategic goals. Demonstrated proficiency in maximizing the use of the organizations LMS for data collection and reporting, assigning training etc. learning and development platform management. Familiarity with content creation software ideal (Canva, Adobe Captivate etc.).


Experience: Prior banking experience is helpful but not required. A minimum of three years of relevant experience is preferred.
