SUMMARY

The Director of Community and Fund Development educates the community about the vital programs and services provided by Thrive Wellness and Recovery, and leads the overall growth of the Thrive Foundation. The Director will educate the community about the organization’s vital programs and services; communicate the mission and vision of the Thrive Foundation to staff, alumni, and the community at-large; organize events and activities that maximize opportunities to communicate with staff, alumni, and the community at-large, and further the Foundation’s fund growth. The Director works closely with the Thrive Executive Leadership Team.

This position is funded by the THRIVE Foundation.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with the creation and implementation of a communications strategy, with associated materials, to promote Thrive Wellness and Recovery and Thrive Foundation.
  • Identify and implement activities/events that will increase awareness about Thrive Wellness and Recovery among its staff, alumni, and the community at-large.
  • Support the Thrive Foundation Board and its committees with administrative tasks to include, but are not limited to, taking meeting minutes, preparing meeting agendas, sending out meeting notices, coordinating with Thrive staff to ensure timely completion of financial statements, and ensuring bills are paid.
  • Maintain the Thrive Foundation’s fundraising platform, Classy, to ensure proper tracking of donations/contributions and the sending of letters to donors/sponsors. Director will maintain regular communication with donors/sponsors.
  • Assist the Thrive Foundation Board with activities/events such as its annual golf tournament, Art in Recovery event, annual appeal, and others that may be developed.
  • Work collaboratively with the Thrive Foundation Board to identify an annual fundraising plan to further fund development strategies such as annual appeals, special events, development of instruments associated with unrestricted and restricted gifts, endowments, planned gifts and other forms of donation.
  • Research and write grants on behalf of Thrive Foundation in support of its mission and strategies.
  • Attend varied local, regional, and state events and establish relationships with the key players in the community.
  • Manage all requests for funding to and from the Thrive Foundation, to include scholarships, and report to the Thrive Foundation Board.
  • Establish and maintain a list of volunteers to maximize their support.
  • Maintain social media and website updates/development for the Foundation, collaborating with the Agency and its marketing needs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or that may develop.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required:  High School Diploma or GED, Excellent written and verbal communication skills 


Preferred: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, public administration, social sciences, marketing, communication, or a closely related field 
  • Minimum of 3 years in institutional or organizational fundraising, development, marketing, or the establishment of relationships with varied stakeholders 
  • Grant writing experience 


CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Required: Must maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Salary Description
$60,000-$80,000/ year
