  • Hours: Full-Time
  • Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM; Some weekend and evening events
  • Start Date: 3/2/2026

What We're Looking For:
The Family Services/ERSEA Coordinator serves as a member of the EHS management team. Responsibilities include initiating and continuing collaborative Community Partnerships and overseeing the development of Family Partnerships. ERSEA responsibilities include maintenance of an active Recruitment Plan and enrollment of families into EHS program of Grant and Blackford counties.  


Ideal Experience, Background & Skills:

· Head Start/Early Head Start experience is a plus 

· Further experience in child development, child and adult mental health development, adult education, and community service preferred. 

· Someone who is warm and approachable, community minded, organized with strong communication and listening skills.


As a Family Services/ERSEA Coordinator you'll spend your days:
· Ensuring compliance with all requirements for Family and Community Partnerships Service Areas as stated om the Early Head Start Program Performance Standards and Regulations; and in relation to the Parent, Family and Community Engagement outcomes framework.

· Serving as the program resource for consultation, information and referral regarding community resources to staff and client families.

· Serving as program resources for other community organizations and resources to maintain collaborative agreements and effective community partnerships which support enrolled families without duplication of services. 

· Assisting in ongoing assessment of the quality of services provided and ongoing program development

· Maintaining accurate and timely case files both written and electronic

· Providing or arranging for annual staff training on such topics as community resources, serving diverse populations, working with people in poverty, and other topics as needed.

· Maintaining the EHS Recruitment Plan and related documentation and attend health fairs and conduct child-find activities in Grant and Blackford Counties.

· Maintaining professional contacts and relationships with personnel from other community organizations to facilitate referrals

· Maintaining professional contacts and relationships with personnel from other community organizations to facilitate referrals

· Ensuring that enrollment requirements are maintained at optimal levels while maintaining an active waiting list for EHS services

· Ensuring compliance with all ERSEA requirements of the Early Head Start Program Performance Standards and Regulations.

· Completing all required paperwork with families for application to EHS, including income verification, priority eligibility checklist, etc.

· Providing accurate and up-to-date waiting list information to Center-based and Home-based Supervisors to facilitate timely enrollment of families at funded enrollment level.

Requirements
  • Education  and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in social work or human services related field required; must possess a valid driver’s license and meet agency insurability requirements
  • Knowledge: Must be willing to pursue continuing education as required by Early Head Start Performance Standards and Federal Regulations.
  • Skills: Must be able to gain new skills in teaching adults and children developmentally appropriate skills and gain broader knowledge of related issues by attending seminars, workshops, and personal study; must possess the following abilities: adaptability, judgment, initiative, leadership, communication skills (oral and written), teamwork, follow-up and Information monitoring.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to bend, stoop, stand, or sit for periods of time and to lift children; must possess the sensory capabilities necessary to perform essential job functions; must be able to wear all required personal protective equipment such as, but not limited to gloves, masks, gowns, face shields, shoes, ear plugs, etc. 
  • Safety and Compliance: Must be able to follow all required safe and universal precaution practices during a pandemic and as required otherwise.
