 Job Summary

The Clinical Sales Specialist (CSS) is a dual-role position responsible for driving revenue growth while providing high-level clinical education and support within assigned hospital and clinic accounts. This role serves as a clinical expert, sales partner, and trusted resource to healthcare professionals, bridging sales strategy with in-field execution to drive adoption, utilization, and long-term customer satisfaction.


The CSS partners closely with Account Managers to expand market share, support new and existing accounts, convert clinical evaluations into committed customers, and ensure safe and effective use of company therapies in accordance with product labeling and regulatory requirements.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


Sales & Revenue Responsibilities

• Provide clinical sales support to promote Nuwellis products and contribute to the achievement of revenue generation targets within the assigned territory on a quarterly and annual basis.

• Partner with Account Managers to drive account penetration, expand prescriber base, and re-engage inactive or lost accounts.

• Follow up on leads, prospect new opportunities, and build relationships that increase customer adoption and satisfaction.

• Participate in territory planning, account strategy development, and execution of sales initiatives.

• Represent the company at medical conferences, workshops, and industry events to support lead generation and sales growth.

• Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and activities using company systems and tools.


Clinical Education & Support

• Deliver clinical education, in-services, and hands-on demonstrations to physicians, nurses, technicians, and other healthcare staff.

• Provide clinical and technical support before, during, and after therapy, including procedural or case coverage as needed.

• Support product evaluations and clinical trials by ensuring proper training, implementation, and follow-up.

• Collaborate with clinicians to identify barriers to therapy adoption and develop solutions that improve clinical and financial outcomes.

• Provide ongoing education to ensure therapy is delivered according to product labeling and best practices.


Cross-Functional Collaboration & Compliance

• Work closely with sales, marketing, clinical, and medical affairs teams to align messaging, training, and customer support.

• Manage product complaints appropriately and in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

• Ensure full compliance with company policies, HIPAA, Sunshine Act, anti-kickback statutes, and all applicable laws governing interactions with healthcare professionals.

• Maintain required training, certifications, and vendor credentialing.

The Opportunity

Nuwellis is seeking a Clinical Sales Specialist (CSS) to drive revenue growth and provide high-level clinical education and support within assigned hospital and clinic accounts. This is a dual-role position combining sales execution with hands-on clinical expertise, supporting adoption and utilization of Nuwellis therapies.


Candidates must be located in the New York City area or surrounding metro region.


The CSS partners closely with Account Managers and healthcare professionals to expand market share, support new and existing accounts, deliver in-services and training, and help ensure safe and effective therapy use. This role is responsible for meeting assigned sales quota goals while serving as a trusted clinical resource in the field.


What You’ll Do

  • Achieve territory sales targets and support revenue growth
  • Provide clinical training, case support, and product education
  • Build strong relationships with physicians, nurses, and hospital stakeholders
  • Support product evaluations and customer onboarding
  • Maintain accurate activity tracking using CRM and company tools
  • Ensure compliance with all healthcare and regulatory requirements

We offer competitive compensation, including:

  • Base Salary: $125,000
  • Variable Incentive:  Up to $50,000 annually (performance-based)

In addition, Nuwellis provides a comprehensive total rewards package, including:

What You Bring (Required Qualifications)

  • Nursing or healthcare-related degree with current licensure
  • 5+  years of acute care clinical experience (ICU, cardiovascular, dialysis,      etc.)
  • 2+  years of sales experience (medical device preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 50% within the assigned territory
