About the Role
The Corporate Counsel will serve as a trusted mid-level advisor across the bank’s evolving businesses. This role includes work across the entire enterprise, including banking, lending, fintech, securities, and corporate governance. You will support a high-velocity growth plan involving modernization, market expansion, and new business verticals. The ideal candidate is proactive, solutions-oriented, and comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced environment.

  • Provide legal guidance and support for commercial lending, loan servicing, and specialty credit products
  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts and transactional documents
  • Advise on day-to-day legal and regulatory banking questions
  • Support corporate governance, board materials, and holding-company-level matters
  • Assist with legal aspects of fintech partnerships, payment systems, and vendor relationships
  • Conduct legal research and prepare actionable guidance for senior counsel and executives
  • Work directly with C-suite officers on strategic initiatives and sensitive legal matters
  • Strengthen enterprise risk, compliance, and controls as the bank scales
  • Operate in a fast-paced, execution-focused environment with minimal oversight 
Requirements

  

  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Connecticut bar preferred but not required (admission to at least one jurisdiction required) 
  • 3–5 years relevant experience (banking, lending, regulatory, fintech, corporate, or securities experience preferred)
  • Strong drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Excellent communication skills and a practical, business-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, evolving environment
