Job Summary Overview
The position is responsible for researching, identifying, analyzing, recommending, and implementing solutions to gain system efficiencies through the use of new or existing software or applications.
Essential Job Functions
- Recommends changes to processes while maintaining an innovative, future-focused mindset.
- Collaborate and consult with business owners on their needs providing assistance on technical statements of work for custom PowerOn or API development.
- Assists with the RFP/RFI process (Request for Proposal/Information) of new vendors.
- Responsible for highly complex solutions.
- Understands system integration between and among systems.
- Maintains a “buy” versus “fully custom build” frame of thinking.
- Knows the role of the business process within the organization and the downstream and upstream business partnerships including managing and controlling for impacts to other areas.
- Maximizes existing software/applications, automation and integration over manual processes.
- Ensures data fields are documented to support data integrity and that all data is accessible.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Education and Experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or four (4) years’ experience in product/process development, reporting, data mining from multiple systems using tools like Structured Query Language (SQL), data analysis of loan and deposit portfolio composition, credit risk, transaction activity and products sales/service at a financial institution; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
General knowledge of current innovative technology trends/concepts and how they relate to the financial services industry. Good understanding on how most departments in the credit union operate and function from a process/product perspective. Ability to passionately and effectively collaborate with individuals and teams both inside and outside of R&D. Ability to effectively communicate to individuals, groups and organizational leaders verbally in person, on the telephone and through email.
Skilled at reading, writing, analyzing and interpreting data for specific requests or to propose new enhancements/products that serve the credit union. Ability to define problems, collect data, and make appropriate recommendations for resolution. Ability to apply mathematical concepts including rates, ratios, percentages to determine and test reliability and validity. Ability to type 45 words per minute. Ability to read, write and speak in English. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Knowledge of computers and software applications in Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook required.

Preferred Qualifications
Three (3) years at Arizona Federal as the Subject-Matter Expert (SME) of software or a process. Some Project Management experience and presentation skills. An understanding of our Core Systems (Symitar Episys, Lending Systems, Online/Mobile Banking). Basic introductory knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL), SQL Server, Visual Studio, Monarch or other data extract tools from static reports. Able to grasp complex processes quickly.

- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, twist kneel, stoop and reach above shoulder level.
- Frequently required to sit and use hands to finger keys accurately when using computer keyboards; reach with hands and arms.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and color vision.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be required to travel independently to department and branch locations.
- Required to engage in interpersonal relationships and stressful situations up to 66% of the time.
- Required to work overtime as needed.
- This position does not require regular presence at the office.
