Description

Job Summary: The Product Manager is a key enterprise portfolio contributor that focuses on driving the intake, evaluation, and commercialization of new Products, Services, and Solutions into the business. This individual also assists in conducting partner and vendor research while working with key internal and external stakeholders to develop and convey a clear product strategy and onboarding process.

This role will collaborate with the Strategic Marketing and Solution Architecture teams to deliver and maintain an end-to-end onboarding experience in alignment with the strategic direction of the business. The ideal candidate would have a unique mix of skills including strong time management and prioritization, excellent communication (both verbal and written), and the ability to effectively lead through collaboration with stakeholders. The Product Manager must be able to work effectively with a wide range of teams — from business leaders to key vendors and partners to delivery teams — facilitating the integration of new Products, Services, and Solutions into DecisionPoint Technologies.

Reporting Relationship:

  • Reports to Vice President of Strategic Solutions Management

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision, and culture of the organization in behavior, practice, and decision making.
  • Contributes to the development of our product integration strategy, evaluation, and commercialization process.
  • Track and leverage key KPIs to monitor the success of new products, services, and solutions that are introduced into the business.
  • Evaluate new business cases to determine suitability for the business and if it conflicts with any of our current offerings. Assists in reconciliation of perspectives and priorities into a consensus that all stakeholders can support.
  • Supports the Strategic Solutions Management team with vendor evaluation and onboarding, instrumental in gathering key vendor information for marketing and sales enablement purposes.
  • Builds both formal and informal professional relationships among relevant internal and external stakeholders as well as influencers in a manner designed to maximize the success of the products, services, and solutions we bring into the business.
  • Maintain support from key stakeholders within and across relevant departments to identify, then achieve, product management objectives and outcomes.
  • Build a strong relationship with the Strategic Marketing and Solution Architecture teams to ensure consistent service delivery and onboarding process optimization. Demonstrate servant leadership, based on achieving common objectives.  
  • Communicates departmental goals, objectives, and priorities in a persuasive manner that builds support, agreement, and commitment to the process.
  • Facilitate calls with internal team members and partners to fully ‘vet’ a product, service, or solution being proposed.
  • Guide the resolution of issues that arise among onboarded products, services, and solutions in a way that balances product and revenue goals.
  • Apply change management principles and techniques in helping the organization manage change as required to execute the product strategy.
  • Review and evaluate submitted business cases and corresponding customer use cases to prepare a balanced perspective for the sales and operations teams.
  • Gather a full understanding of product roadmaps and ensure our teams are in sync with new launches and updates (when applicable).
  • Convey the Enterprise Portfolio and Strategic Solutions Management vision in a way that encourages people to embrace the process.
  • Translates technical language into business language as needed to bridge the gap between business and technology professionals engaged in the product, service, and/or solution intake and onboarding process.
  • Become familiar with the core technologies and offerings that DPT provides to have a firm understanding of how new products, services, and solutions fit into the business.
  • Assist with go-to-market strategies that align to company goals while focusing on customer needs (pain points).
  • Organize and facilitate sales team training while leveraging our internal business case sponsor/champion and/or partner to create and deliver the right messaging. 
  • Leverage tools like CRM and marketing platforms to track the adoption of new products, services, and/or solutions for monitoring and reporting of key KPIs for our functional area.
  • Analyze market trends and consumer behavior to identify opportunities for growth.

Strategic Marketing team provides support for the following:

  • Collaborate with Solutions Management and Architecture teams to create marketing materials that clearly communicate the benefits and technical features of products, services, and/or solutions.
  • Work on product positioning and messaging to ensure the products are effectively marketed to the target audience.
  • Support the sales team with collateral, presentations, and case studies that highlight product value to prospective customers.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer needs, market trends, and competitive landscape.
  • Use insights from market research to help identify emerging opportunities and threats to our current products, services, and solutions.
  • Use data-driven insights to measure the performance of products, services, and/or solutions.
  • Build and review Marketing KPIs (lead generation, conversion rates, customer acquisition costs) to adjust strategies as needed.
  • Lead the development of brand/category positioning, messaging, creative, and PR campaigns.
  • Use data, market, and competitive research to better drive demand and conversion rates of our products, services, and solutions.
  • Implement product marketing strategies (packaging, pricing, positioning), content marketing, and go-to-market plans to increase ARR and multi-product adoption.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of (3) years of progressively complex experience in project and product management roles. Knowledge of partner management and experience to manage the full product lifecycle, from intake/inception to closure is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information technology, or a minimum of (5) years of equivalent enterprise product management experience.
  • Project or Product Management certification(s) are a plus.
  • Experience in the Retail, Manufacturing, and / or Transportation & Logistics sectors is a plus.

Environment and Normal Working Conditions: 

Office/Warehouse/Remote environment. Core business hours are generally 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. However, this position will/may require work to be performed outside of normal business hours based on company operations. 

Physical Requirements:

Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting including verbally communicating, seeing and hearing to exchange information and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard. Daily physical functions may include standing, sitting and walking for prolonged periods of time and occasionally stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and twisting. The employee may engage in lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling light to moderate amounts of weight up to 25 pounds. The position also requires the operation of office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement.
