Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week travel assignment at a medical center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

This role supports a large respiratory care department working across Med Surg, ICU Stepdown, and Emergency Department environments in a high-acuity setting.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This assignment is ideal for RRTs with strong acute care experience who are comfortable managing complex respiratory patients in a fast-paced hospital setting.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• 13-week contract
• 4x12 Night shifts
• 18:45–07:15
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts within a 6-week timeframe
• Call required as needed based on workload
• Floating required within hospital based on skill set and census

COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,226 per week
• W2: $17.50 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,246 per week

CLINICAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Perform airway management and ventilator support
• Administer respiratory medications and therapies
• Conduct ABG analysis and interpretation
• Provide oxygen therapy and suctioning
• Support pulmonary toileting and advanced respiratory interventions
• Manage BiPAP, CPAP, heated high-flow, and Meta-neb therapies
• Assist in prone positioning and care of COPD and COVID patients
• Document care in Epic EMR

UNIT OVERVIEW
• Large respiratory department operating at full scope of practice
• Patient populations include adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• High volume of COPD and COVID patients
• Common use of VPAP (Omni-labs and V30s) and ABL90 ABG machine

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS

• 36 or 48 hours possible per unit needs

SCHEDULING
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts within 6 weeks

RTO POLICY
• No RTO after booking
• No RTO first week
• Max 7 days RTO (no holidays)
• Additional RTO or call-offs may result in cancel/DNR

HOLIDAY REQUIREMENT
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays

FATIGUE POLICY
• No more than 5 consecutive days
• Max 60 hours per week

LICENSING / CERTS
• NC or Compact license required at start
• RRT required (CRT not accepted)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS required
• NRP preferred

CLINICAL NOTES
• ER, ICU, Med Surg, Stepdown experience required
• High COPD and COVID population
• Frequent proning
• Equipment includes Servo I, Servo U, Hamilton T1, VPAP systems, ABL90 ABG machine

COMPLIANCE
• Lab work within 48 hours after signing
• All testing within 48 hours
• Must disclose prior Novant employment

ELIGIBILITY
• 12-month wait for previous Novant or New Hanover staff
• Rehire approval required
• Per diem clinicians not eligible for travel
