Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an experienced Travel Registered Nurse for a high-acuity Acute Leukemia and Hematology unit in Columbus, Ohio.

This is an inpatient oncology role focused on newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients requiring complex care, chemotherapy administration, and intensive monitoring.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This unit specializes in hematologic malignancies and requires strong oncology experience, critical thinking, and comfort managing complex, immunocompromised patients.

ASSIGNMENT DETAILS
• Contract Length: 16 weeks
• Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (36 hours/week)
• Shift Options:
  – Days: 07:00–19:30
  – Nights: 19:00–07:30
• Self-scheduling (no block scheduling)
• Weekend requirements based on unit needs
• Floating required to Med-Surg Oncology units

COMPENSATION
• Gross: $2,557 per week
• W2: $30.00 per hour
• Tax-Free Stipend: $1,477 per week

UNIT OVERVIEW
• Acute Leukemia / Hematology Unit
• 24 beds | Avg census: 22
• Adult & geriatric population
• Ratios: 1:4 goal (may flex to 1:5)

CLINICAL ENVIRONMENT
• High volume of blood products and IV antibiotics
• Electrolyte management
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Telemetry monitoring (GE B450 system)
• Alaris pumps, Stryker beds, bladder scanners
• Epic EMR

ORIENTATION
• Week 1: Monday–Friday (dayshift)
• Week 2: 36 hours with preceptor

• Active Compact RN license or Ohio RN license REQUIRED at submission
• Minimum 2 years RN experience REQUIRED
• MUST have Med-Surg Oncology experience
• MUST have 1+ year hematology/oncology experience within last 3 years
• MUST have CURRENT oncology specialty experience
• ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Certification REQUIRED
• BLS and ACLS REQUIRED
• Epic experience REQUIRED
• First-time travelers NOT accepted

Clinical Skills Required:
• Chemotherapy administration and monitoring
• Blood product administration
• Central line, PICC, and port management
• Telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Infection prevention protocols
• IV therapy and phlebotomy

Additional Requirements:
• Floating required to Med-Surg Oncology units
• RTO must be submitted with application
• Must meet strict compliance timelines
