The Vice President of Operations is the senior leader responsible for driving operational excellence, regulatory readiness, production performance, and service quality across Tarrytown Expocare’s nationwide pharmacy network. This role oversees day-to-day operations for 12+ LTC/IDD pharmacy locations, ensuring consistent execution of Tarrytown Expocare’s high-volume cycle-fill model, patient-first service standards, and disciplined operational processes.


The Vice President of Operations will lead multi-site pharmacy teams, partner closely with finance, clinical, facilities, and IT, and set the operational rhythm that supports Expocare’s rapid growth, multi-state expansion, and M&A integration pipeline.


This role is ideal for a highly structured, metrics-driven operator who can standardize complex workflows across states while motivating pharmacy leaders to deliver consistent, scalable, high-quality results.


 National Pharmacy Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily operations across all TEC pharmacy sites (currently 12; expanding to 20+).
  • Ensure consistent production, fulfillment, pharmacy workflows, delivery/transportation logistics, and customer service.
  • Set operational standards and SOPs for cycle-fill, IDD-specific production models, flashing, labeling, sortation, and fulfillment.
  • Drive performance visibility and accountability through KPIs, dashboards, and weekly/monthly operating reviews.

Production Management & Quality Assurance

  • Own monthly cycle-fill production performance, accuracy, and timeliness across all sites.
  • Manage throughput expectations, labor planning, and production pacing to meet patient and facility deadlines.
  • Oversee cross-site SOP adoption across all locations, recognizing key operational nuance at each site.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework, errors, waste, and inconsistencies between sites.

Pharmacy Leadership & Workforce Development

  • Directly lead and mentor PICs, Regional Operations Directors, and site production leads.
  • Own staffing models, succession planning, and performance management for multi-site operational teams.
  • Develop leadership across RODs and PICs, including peer mentorship programs and cross-site quality alignment.
  • Set a culture of accountability, collaboration, communication, and proactive problem-solving.

Operational Standardization & Scaling

  • Build and maintain enterprise-wide SOPs, process documentation, playbooks, and training for uniform execution.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and implement scalable solutions for high-volume growth.
  • Support design and rollout of automated production management tools, dashboards, and technology to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Lead readiness actions for new state expansions, relocations, and high-volume central production transitions.

Customer Experience & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure that agencies, group homes, and caregivers receive consistent, high-quality service across all states in partnership with sales and account management teams.
  • Lead escalation management and systemic root-cause analysis for any service or accuracy issues.
  • Partner with managed care organizations, payers, and agencies during audits or operational reviews.

Regulatory Compliance 

  • Ensure all operational practices meet federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee PRC validation workflows, LTC contract alignment (ESI/Optum/CVS-Caremark), and audit readiness.
  • Lead corrective action plans in partnership with compliance leadership.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Operational Efficiency

  • Manage operational budgets, staffing levels, productivity expectations, and monthly production planning.
  • Analyze trends to forecast volume, labor requirements, cost-to-fill, and multi-site performance.
  • Evaluate ROI and operational integration for new equipment, automation, or process changes.

Support for M&A, De Novo Expansions & Integrations

  • Lead operational due diligence and integration planning for acquisitions.

 

Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy, Bachelor’s in Pharmacy, Business Administration, or a related field, with an MBA preferred, ideally within Long Term Care (LTC), group homes, or the IDD community.
  • Proven experience leading multi-site teams with measurable performance improvements.
  • Deep understanding of cycle-fill pharmacy operations and IDD/LTC workflows.
  • Strong regulatory and compliance familiarity across multiple states.
  • Demonstrated ability to create, implement, and enforce scalable SOPs.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong analytical and process-improvement capability.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-growth, PE-backed environment.
