ROLE SUMMARY
Reporting to the Vice President, Head of Value & Access, the Executive Director of Strategic Accounts will be responsible for partnering with internal stakeholders to develop tactics to ensure optimal national/regional coverage for our products across Commercial, Medicare Part D, Managed Medicaid and Government payers and pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs). The successful outcome is streamlined and transparent coverage resulting in unimpeded patient access to therapy. The Executive Director Strategic Accounts will lead the team of payer account leaders – our Strategic Account Directors – to work with various payers across the country
Additional strategic leadership responsibilities include payer contract negotiations, serving as a liaison for HEOR initiatives, supporting the development of payer value propositions, and helping to achieve our other objectives across all Market Access and Commercial functions. This role will involve extensive coordination with Marketing, Commercial Operations, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, Finance, IT, external consulting groups, and vendors.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and execute a payer strategy to gain optimal access for our products through product placement on national and regional Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and government formularies. This includes access within national and regional payers that are affiliated with Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs).
- Lead the effort toward building-out and expanding our long-term executive level account relationships with targeted payers and PBMs in support of the Strategic Accounts Team and our overall payer objectives.,
- Craft a cross-functional team structure with key internal stakeholders to ensure that channel and payer strategies are implemented and tracking to established goals.
- Responsible for close collaboration with key Medical Affairs field and HEOR colleagues to ensure seamless alignment on our account-level strategies and payer support/messaging needs.
- Assist in the creation of all payer value propositions and lead all efforts to deliver on these and other payer marketing tactics.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal pricing regulations.
- Maintain excellence in team leadership, account management, and compliance (SOPs, work instructions, processes, governance).
- Proactively identify market trends, key Market Access customers and opinion leaders on a continual basis.
- Identify and report to senior management on key state and federal policies and legislation that may affect pricing or access of Zydus Therapeutics products.
- Attend key trade meetings (ex. PCMA, AMCP), POA’s and sales meetings as needed.
- Partner with all Commercial colleagues to ensure access confidence and unimpeded access to our products consistent with FDA labeling.,
- Work collaboratively with the Field Reimbursement Manager (FRM) Team and Patient Services and Chanel/Distribution colleagues to ensure reimbursement confidence and unimpeded access to our products.
- Responsible for developing an internal triage process in collaboration with field leadership around coverage concerns including access barriers, denials or appeals.
- Ensure Strategic Accounts team adheres to all company policies and compliance training, as well as other legal and regulatory directives.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED
· Bachelor's Degree, with an advanced degree preferred.
· 12+ years of proven pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience in Market Access or account management (preferably with rare or specialty pharmaceuticals)
· 5+ years in Market Access leadership roles
· Outstanding customer relationships, interpersonal, and verbal/written communication skills, with the established ability to effectively work with diverse audiences and influence cross-functionally
· Proven negotiation skills and problem-solving capabilities.
· Strong analytical skills with the proven ability to effectively analyze data to determine trends and inform strategy. Deep insight within Medicare, Medicaid, and other government channels is required, and specialty oral therapy launch experience is preferred.
· Exceptional leadership and business acumen, with ability to manage multiple priorities, processes, timelines and expectations of multiple stakeholder groups.
· Superior collaboration skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, addressing short-term needs while maintaining a focus on long-term strategies.
· Proven ability to recruit, coach, develop and retain high caliber talent.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
The position will require domestic travel (up to 40%), including nights and weekends on occasion.
