Description

Position Purpose:

Provide assistance to leadership to all pool related activities and general aquatic operations. This includes supervision of all related personnel, facilities, and equipment for the Aquatics department.

  

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

· Assists the Aquatics Manager in the supervision of the Aquatics department and staff to assure a high standard of safety and cleanliness and departmental objectives are being met. 

· Assisting with any aquatics events.

· Lead is on deck directly monitoring swimming lesson activities / staff, communicating with parents. Dealing with all situations that arise in an efficient and professional manner. 

· Monitors ongoing swimming lesson instructor’s performance, lesson plans and progress reports. 

· Assists with covering lifeguard and swim instructor shifts. 

· Partnering with the Aquatics Manager in making sure lifeguard and CPR certifications are current and up to date. Ensuring all certifications are shared with Human Resources.

· Partnering with the Aquatics Manager in creating, communicating, and updating the aquatics staff schedule. 

· Assisting parents / members with enrolling in all swimming lesson related activities. Maintaining and communicating the swimming lesson student roster with all necessary parties. 

· Monitoring lifeguard staff daily essential duties including but not limited to opening and closing tasks, chemical checks, and cleaning. 

Other duties as assigned by supervisor.


Requirements

Education, Experience, & Skills (Minimum Requirement):

A High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. One-two years of direct aquatic related experience required. Minimum of one-year supervisory experience assisting a manager with the oversight of staff and general aquatic operations preferred. 


Licensure/Certification Requirement(s):

· Lifeguard / First Aid / CPR / AED certification(s) required. 

· American Red Cross CPR / LGI Instructor Certification preferred (not required). Or willingness to obtain within the first year of hire.

 

Must be at least (18) years of age or older to apply. Position Hours: Vary between two part-time shift differentials. Ranging in hours from 16-25 / week.

Salary Description
$16.41 - 20.52 / hr.
