The Biomedical/Biotechnology COI SETA provides scientific, technical, and administrative support to senior government leadership overseeing biomedical and biotechnology research portfolios within the Office of Naval Research (ONR). This role supports the execution, coordination, and communication of research and development activities that advance medical, biological, and biotechnology capabilities relevant to naval and joint warfighters. The position requires strong scientific literacy, the ability to synthesize complex technical information, and professional maturity to support Government Senior Executives and collaborate across multiple government agencies.
- Active SECRET level clearance or ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET level clearance.
- Education & Experience
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Synthetic Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Bioengineering, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Medicine, Medical Technology, Physiology, or a related scientific discipline
- Minimum five (5) years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Read, analyze, and synthesize highly technical scientific material into concise summaries
- Communicate complex information visually through briefings, charts, and information graphics
- Take detailed, accurate meeting minutes and distribute them in a timely manner
- Develop, format, and edit documents to meet standards required by senior officials across multiple government agencies
- Provide direct support to Government Senior Executives in a professional, high-visibility environment
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment supporting senior executives
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and timeliness
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to handle sensitive information in accordance with security requirements
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, Outlook)
Desired experience:
- Familiarity with government research portfolios, interagency coordination, and senior-level decision-making environments
- Experience supporting DoD research and development programs
